At the moment, those who visit the website can - by entering their address - make sure that the service is available and queue up for pre-ordering, as at this stage connections are limited. In the case of Greece, as the Starlink website states, the service is expected to be available in the middle or end of this year.
As for the cost, the purchase price of the equipment, including the satellite dish, is 499 euros while the service costs 99 euros per month. There is a shipping fee of 61 euros.
As telecommunications market executives point out, at this stage Elon Musk's satellite Internet is not considered to be directly competitive, as the costs are considerably higher and the speeds offered are not dramatically higher. As they explain, with these facts the service only makes sense in cases where there is no access to broadband Internet.
However, the Tesla founder has indicated that these speeds will only apply to the beta version of the service and that Starlink is in normal operation, will offer up to 100 times faster Internet access.
And, according to industry executives, if this happens, the situation will change dramatically.
