The students of the second grade of Kythera High School had a special, experiential experience, transforming the classroom into a gastronomic scene of... Paris level! In the context of the module «French culture and gastronomy», the action «À la cuisine!» combined learning with creativity, proving that language «goes through the stomach».
A competition with «French finesse»
The students were not limited to cooking, but were invited to present their recipes exclusively in French, describing precisely the ingredients and the stages of preparation. The panel of teachers graded the efforts on five points:
- The correctness of the French language.
- The taste of the dish.
- The artistic serving.
- The speed of execution.
- The organization and cleanliness of the bench.
The boys decided to create two dishes, one savoury and one sweet. The girls limited themselves to a sweet dish and eventually won the competition after getting higher scores from the jury in all the individual areas.
Congratulations to all participants! The success of this year's event already... promises for the next gastronomic meeting at the High School of our island.
