With a scathing intervention, the resident of Kapsali George Samios describes in dark colours the situation in the emblematic settlement of Kythera, at a time when the tourist season has begun. Despite the good weather, the infrastructure seems to have been left «in the previous season», with Samio highlighting three burning issues that are exposing the municipal authority.
The «headless» lantern and the neglected pier
The picture in the port is disappointing. As Mr Samios complains, the jetty remains «unshaped» with rust dominating, giving a sense of complete abandonment. The most serious, however, is to be found in the acromion:
«The green light on the capsule's acromion spent one year completely headless... Criminal negligence», he stresses, pointing out that the damage has not even been declared to the competent Ministry.
Despite the fact that the responsible Deputy Mayor has been informed repeatedly and personally by Mr.Samios himself, the situation remains stagnant, endangering the safety of navigation.

Parking at the archaeological site and the «battle» with dust
On the issue of parking, Samios acknowledges as positive the fact that the illegal parking lot that had been developed on an archaeological site has been cleared - a spot for which, he says, no agency shows any interest in the actual history of the site.
However, the intervention was left in the middle. George Samios proposes the immediate coating of the area with gravel, as the daily dust that rises up is a nuisance to residents and visitors, degrading the quality of life in the settlement.

The «silence» for the regional road
Finally, Mr. Samios asks the question that burns all Capsians but seems to be avoided by the administration: the bypass.
«As for the peripheral of Capsali, not a word», he notes, underlining the complete stagnation in a project that should be a priority for the decongestion of the village.
With the season running, Capsule cannot afford to wait another «headless» month for the obvious.
