Harvard: «How many times a month should men ejaculate to be healthy?»

The risk of developing prostate cancer is reduced in men who ejaculate at least 21 times a month.

According to a study by Harvard University, men who satisfy their sexual appetite more often are less at risk of developing this type of cancer.

Approximately 32,000 men took part in the study (it is unknown how it was conducted), and the results showed that ejaculating at least 21 times a month is beneficial!

Specifically, it reduces the risk of developing cancer by one third.

And if that number seems overly optimistic, don't forget that there is also individual training, which not only does not blind you, but can save lives!

However, the relationship between ejaculation and prostate cancer has not yet been fully decoded.

Some believe that ejaculation rids the prostate of carcinogens and reduces inflammation, also leading to less stress and better sleep. All of these can reduce the risk of cancer.

As noted by American Cancer Society, Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men, after skin cancer.

It is estimated that one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime.

In 2021, it is estimated that more than 248,500 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, while more than 34,000 will die from the incurable disease.

Prostate cancer usually develops slowly, and there is no better way to treat it than prevention. If it is detected early while it is still «confined» to the gland, there is a high chance of cure.

The researchers, who published their findings in the medical journal European Urology, analyzed ejaculation data from men who participated in the study from 1992 to 2010.

After taking into account external factors such as body mass index, physical activity, food and alcohol consumption, and stressful situations such as divorce, it was found that men who ejaculated frequently—at least 21 times a month—were one-third less likely to develop cancer than those who ejaculated four to seven times a month.

«These findings provide further evidence for the beneficial role of more frequent ejaculation throughout adulthood in relation to prostate cancer, particularly low-risk prostate cancer,’ the study authors emphasize.

However, until recently, the relationship between ejaculation and prostate cancer was controversial, even among researchers.

A Harvard study in 2004 found no link between the two, However, another study from Australia published a year earlier showed that men who ejaculated frequently during adulthood would grow up with a reduced risk of cancer.

A 2008 study conducted by the University of Cambridge also found that prostate cancer rates increased with the frequency of masturbation.

«There have been other conflicting studies. But most agree that the incidence of low-risk cancer is reduced,» Dr. Odion Aire, a urologist from South Africa, told Mashable.

It is worth noting, however, that there is no clear evidence linking ejaculation to high-risk cancer.

Men who are most likely to develop prostate cancer are over 50 years of age and of African descent.

Consuming large amounts of dairy products, smoking, or being obese also appear to increase the risk.

Some still believe that certain genetic factors make men more vulnerable to the disease.

For their part, experts recommend that men undergo regular checkups, as early diagnosis facilitates treatment and even offers the possibility of a complete cure.
