A police officer and a special guard, serving in Attica, are among the six arrested in flagrante delicto by the Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces, accused of drug offenses and breach of duty.
Specifically, charges were brought against those arrested for violations of legislation on addictive substances and amateur and professional sports, as well as for breach of duty. It should be noted that the case file also includes five individuals for violations of drug laws, for whom, however, the conditions for summary proceedings were not met.
According to the Ministry of Citizen Protection, after appropriate use of information and application of special investigative techniques, it emerged that the arrested police officer had been trafficking quantities of drugs, mainly raw cannabis, since October 2022. had been trafficking quantities of narcotic substances, mainly raw cannabis. These quantities were supplied to him by another arrested person, while the defendants used their homes as storage facilities.
At the same time, the police officer allegedly used precautionary measures, specifically coded conversations and online applications for communication, while, as was established, he was transporting narcotic substances using a service vehicle while on duty.
The accused police officer, while on duty yesterday, Saturday, April 8, in a service vehicle, told his companion that he had to meet a relative who was about to travel. Immediately afterwards, he left the official vehicle and met with one of the arrested individuals, whom he supplied with eight grams of cannabis.
As for the special guard, it was found that he had procured narcotic substances for his personal use.
During searches carried out at the defendants' homes, the following items, among others, were found and confiscated: 2 kilograms and 536.2 grams of raw cannabis, 46 tablets and 11 vials containing unknown liquids, as well as 2 vacuum sealers and package sealers.
Those arrested are taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
