The situation is critical in northeastern Attica. The fire is out of control in Nea and Palaia Penteli, while houses are burning in Patima Vrilissia and flare-ups continue in Grammatiko. In Kaletsi Marathon, where a precautionary evacuation message was issued by 112, the situation has improved slightly in the last hour.
Residents of Dionysos, Nea Penteli, Palaia Penteli, Patima Halandriou, Patima Vrilissia, and Kalentzi Marathon have received evacuation notices.
685 firefighters with 27 forest firefighting teams, 190 vehicles, and volunteers, including all civil protection agencies, are operating on the fire fronts. From the air, 33 aerial vehicles are operating periodically, specifically 17 helicopters and 16 aircraft.
France has offered assistance with a Super Puma helicopter equipped with a bucket, expected to arrive tonight, as well as Italy with two Canadair firefighting aircraft, expected to arrive tomorrow morning. The Czech Republic is also offering 75 firefighters and 25 vehicles, including 9 water tankers, which are expected to arrive tomorrow.
Spain and Turkey, which have also responded positively to Greece's request, will soon announce their contribution.
