By decision of the Mayor (517/2025), the Municipality of Kythera approved the direct award of the supply of special equipment and rescue means to cover needs related to possible emergency situations and increased migration flows.
The supply was approved for a total amount of 37.198,88 € with VAT. and assigned to the company «MALITSIS PAUSANIAS UNIPERSONAL IKE», based in Karditsa. The equipment will be delivered within 3 months old from the signing of the contract.

The award was based on the Study No 13/2025 Study of the Department of Administrative and Financial Services.
The financing of the supply has already been entered in the budget line 15.7135.0018 of the 2025 budget.
The invitation to bid was issued on 11/07/2025 and the contractor's bid was submitted on 17/07/2025.
The payment of the contract amount will be made after the issue of a electronic invoice and control by the financial services, while the acceptance of the equipment will be carried out by a committee established by decision of the Municipality.
Why the supply was deemed necessary
This supply is part of the strengthening civil protection of the Municipality, specifically to address:
Migration flows in the sea passages of Kythera,
Natural disasters and other emergencies requiring rescue means.
The direct award was made on the basis of the institutional framework for procurement under the open tender threshold, and with full reference to all the necessary legal and financial documents. The contract is considered to be active from the moment the decision is notified to the contractor.
