Those planning to visit Kythera and Chios in the coming months are advised to be prepared, as the application process for the long-awaited «Kythira Pass 2026» and «Chios Pass 2026».
The digital platform for submitting applications opens next week Thursday, 14 May, however the window of opportunity will be very small, as the platform will only be open for a few 24 hours, bringing the curtain down on the Monday, 18 May.
What the programme provides
The action is designed to give valuable economic «breathing space» to travellers and at the same time to stimulate the local economy of the two islands. A total of 6,600 digital contactless debit cards will be made available through the programme. Specifically:
- 3,600 beneficiaries for the Kythira Pass 2026
- 3.000 beneficiaries for the Chios Pass 2026
These digital cards can be used by visitors, under certain conditions, exclusively in local businesses operating in the sectors of residence, of focus and of local transport.
The two periods of use
The action does not concern the «heart» of the summer, but aims strategically to prolong the tourist season. The programme is therefore divided into two distinct phases of implementation:
- Period 1: May and June 2026
- 2nd Period: September and October 2026
Those who are interested in securing the subsidy for their holidays on our island should hurry to apply as soon as the platform becomes operational, as huge demand is expected and the number of beneficiaries is strictly limited.
