Excluded contradictions in his official statements Christos Kalogritsa regarding his acquaintance with the Huri family, from which he took a sum of three million euros, are revealed by the information contained in the complaint and in a supplementary memorandum filed by the company of «TOXOTIS S.A.» as well as from the sworn statement of Kyriakos Tobra, who had been recommended by Kalogritsa himself as his witness.
As the evidence shows, in the memorandum of the company of Christos Kalogritsa and even on the same page, two completely different versions of the circumstances of the meeting, contact and eventual collaboration between Kalogritsa and Houry are recorded.
Chr. Kalogritsa has stated specifically, through the evidence filed with the Justice Department by «TOXOTIS SA», that in August 2016, he was informed by the former minister Nikos Pappas that they had contacted Khoury's company (CCC), and in particular its owner Summer Khoury, with a view to teaming up with them in order to participate in the tender for the TV licences, with the ultimate aim of obtaining the licence jointly. In practice, what Christos Kalogritsa claims is that, at the initiative of Nikos Pappas, it was decided to join forces with Houry's company in order to secure one of the television licences together.
The above testimony, however, is in complete contradiction both with the sworn testimony of the witness proposed by Kalogritsa, namely Kyriakos Tombra, and with the facts described in the original complaint of the company «TOXOTIS S.A.» and its supplementary statement. In fact, as is clear from the facts of the complaint, the memorandum and the affidavit of Tobra, the meeting between Kalogritsa and Houry was mediated by Tobra and this was at the initiative of the Houry family.
Kyriakos Tombras, who admits in his testimony that he had a long-term relationship with the Kalogritsa and Houris families, does not make the slightest reference to any involvement of Nikos Pappas in the contacts between Christos Kalogritsa and Summer Khouri, but only describes how he brought Kalogritsa and Houry together to explore the possibility of jointly acquiring a channel.
It is interesting that Christos Kalogritsa himself mentions in the memorandum of the company «TOXOTIS S.A.», that in August 2016, a period when, according to him, Nikos Pappas informed him about the agreement with Houry in order to have a partnership in view of the tender for the TV licenses, he did not know any of the shareholders and directors of Samper Khoury's CCC company.
Kyriakos Tombras, however, has testified that in the same month, i.e. in August 2016, he brought Kalogritsa in contact with Houris, in order to get to know each other and to examine the possibility and prospects of a possible cooperation for the creation of a new nationwide TV station. Tombras has said that he brought Kalogritsa and Houry together at the initiative of the latter's family, in order to explore and then discuss and negotiate the framework and terms of their joint participation in the company «Ioannis Vladimiros Kalogritsa», which would participate in the tender for the licences.
The apparent contradictions, even for someone not familiar with the law, raise reasonable questions regarding the intentions of Christos Kalogritsa, who, on the one hand, contradicts himself in the complaint and in the memorandum that his company has filed with the Justice, and on the other hand, is contradicted by the witness he proposed himself in order to confirm his words.
