The «e-retail» Action aims to provide grants to SMEs for the creation or upgrade of an e-shop in order to support their operation during the COVID-19 pandemic, to enhance the degree of integration of digital technology and digital transformation, to avoid overcrowding indoors and to ensure the continuity of their economic activity.

Applications up to €5,000 per business with a distinct VAT number are eligible.

Who it is aimed at

Medium, small and micro businesses operating in the retail sector, maintaining a physical store and their operation has been suspended for at least one day from Wednesday 18 March 2020 onwards. Businesses are divided into:

Existing, which have been established until 30/09/2019
Newly established, which have been established from 01/10/2019 onwards, until 07/11/2020.

The start date for the eligibility of expenditure is 18 March 2020.

The Action is expected to be launched in January 2021 and the submission period will be announced in the Call and will last at least 30 days.

In order to receive funding from this Action, a Funding Application must be submitted on an electronic platform to be announced with the publication of the detailed Call for Proposals of the Action, to which the following, among others, will be attached:

List of active activities (KID) of the company through the website gsis.gr
Documents for the supply of equipment and services for the creation or upgrade of the e-shop of the company
Evidence of the creation/upgrade of the e-shop (e.g. email address)
Photographs of the physical store with its identification and location details clearly visible.

Terms and conditions

Businesses must, inter alia, meet the following conditions:

have as their Principal Activity the RETAIL TRADE (CN code 47 and its analytical codes with the exception of the fishing sector and the marketing of tobacco and tobacco products)
Existing with the date of acquisition of the Master ID until 30/9/2019
Newly established with a date of acquisition of the Master ID from 1/10/2019 to 7/11/2020
maintain a physical retail outlet, i.e. a commercial space that receives and serves customers
their operation has been suspended for at least one day from Wednesday 18 March 2020 onwards
have completed (implementation, invoicing, payment and accounting of the relevant costs) in the period from 18/03/2020 until the submission of the application, the creation or upgrade of an online store that meets the following requirements:
- operate in two languages and in a mobile responsive environment, accompanied by ordering, warehouse and electronic payment software
- ensure access for people with disabilities (PWD) to all the e-services offered.

What is funded

Servers for the hosting of applications - software required for the creation/upgrade and operation of the e-shop, with the accompanying components (keyboards, screen etc.) and the required operating system. Acquisition in the form of Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) is also allowed.
Computers (Desktop/Laptop)
Other technological equipment related to the creation/upgrade and operation of the e-shop (e.g. network equipment, bar code readers, printers, etc.)
e-shop design, development/upgrade and management services including ordering, warehouse and electronic payment software and hosting services (hosting, collocation etc.)
Development and/or certification of a digital security policy.
