As we are slowly approaching the end of the consultation on the Environmental Impact Study submitted by TERNA ENERGY to the MINISTRY OF MORE ENERGY AND LESS ENVIRONMENT, we must thank the almost 3000 citizens who have signed the objection form that is being drafted and will soon be submitted to the consultation by the law firm specializing in environmental law.
Literally ALL of the island, citizens, institutions, parties, political parties, the Municipality and the Domestic Property have clearly positioned themselves publicly and AGAINST the implementation of the project under consultation and this can only give us all optimism for the future.
We remind you that the consultation ends next Wednesday 9-7-2025 and we encourage citizens, associations and unions to register and participate in the Electronic Environmental Register. At the same time, applications for annulment will soon be filed by another competent lawyer at the Athens Administrative Court of Appeal for the producer's certificates issued by the Regulatory Authority for Waste Energy and Water (RAEY, formerly RAE) for the projects of TERNA ENERGY. After the expiry of the time allowed by law, RAEAY did NOT reply to the requests for review that had been filed and due to implicit rejection we are led to the filing of the applications for annulment.
As the financial costs are high, we ask everyone who loves and cares for the natural and cultural environment of the island to participate in the effort and with their financial contribution, by depositing any amount in a special account of the Kytherian Foundation for Culture and Development (K.I.P.A.) concerning the legal struggles against the industrial wind farms.
Since 2006, the Kythera Foundation for Culture and Development (K.I.P.A.) has been highlighting the cultural and natural heritage of Kythera, while contributing to the sustainable development and quality of life of the local community through educational activities, events, scientific conferences and the restoration of traditional paths, among others.
For each payment, a corresponding receipt will be issued and sent to the depositor.
