Of Saint Demetrius in Kythira

From Eleni Charou's blog.

Saint Demetrius is honored in the following churches on Kythira:

Saint Demetrius in Pourko
Saint Demetrius in Kampianika (Alexandroupoli area)
Saint Demetrius, the Karidianikos, in Kato Chora, Mylopotamos
Saint Demetrius in Fratsi (cemetery)
Saint Demetrius in Guria, Logothetianika
Saint Demetrius in Skliri
Agios Dimitrios in Mesa Vourgo in Chora (ruined)

In Mitata, there was also a church dedicated to Saint Demetrius of the Protopsaltides, which was destroyed in the earthquake of 1903.

Of these temples, those in Pourko, Kampianika, and Vourgo are of greatest archaeological interest. Agios Dimitrios in Pourko is a highly significant Byzantine monument from the 13th century with frescoes in three layers from the 13th and 14th centuries and post-Byzantine representations. Externally, it has an irregular shape with two domes, while internally it consists of a complex of four churches, which are connected to each other in succession. This type of complex is unique. The two domed churches are in the Kythirian style, while the other two have arched roofs. Agios Dimitrios in Kampianika is a Byzantine monument in the Kythirian style and is covered with frescoes inside.
