The vets say it, but some people insist on pretending they don't understand. Little dogs - especially small ones - should not eat what humans do. You may think you're doing him good when you give him treats to stop him whining, but that's not exactly the case.
Grapes/raisins: It is scientifically confirmed that they are toxic to the body of our four-legged friends, increasing the likelihood of acute kidney failure and difficulty urinating.
Lemons: If you see him munching on a lemonade that he's mistaken for a ball, take it away immediately. Acids cause stomach upset in livestock and damage to the central nervous system due to citric acid. He doesn't have to drink lemon, all he has to do is eat the peel to do the damage.
Cherries: Also toxic, they cause digestive problems since the cherry seed contains traces of cyanide. And the pine cone, dangerous too.
Apricots: An apricot can be fatal for Phlox not only because of the pitting, but also because of the cyanide found in its composition, which inhibits the production of enzymes responsible for the oxygenation of his cells. It may also cause him difficulty in breathing.
Peaches: Cyanide and pith here too.
Plums: Why should you feed plum to your dog? No, it won't help him with constipation, you don't have the same body. On the contrary, it increases the possibility of obstruction of the digestive tract, especially in small dogs.
Vegetables
Raw potato: Because it contains solanine, which impairs vision and heart function. So if you see it grabbing potatoes out of the bag, remove either one (the bag or the dog).
Mushrooms: Fungi can cause an irreversible complication in your pet.
Onions: Does he eat onions? I think he's a meracle. But it's just that ingesting it raises his red blood cell count, and he could get hemolytic anemia.
Garlic: Garlic is considered dangerous only when consumed in large quantities. Hey, how much garlic can this one eat?;
Asparagus: Poor urine and gas are brought on by asparagus. He can live without them.
And other forbidden foods for your dog
Xylitol: It is found in corn, mushrooms, lettuce, chiclets and toothpaste. Even a small amount of it causes hypoglycemia, liver failure, seizures, and even death.
Alcohol: Is it possible now? Ethanol is obviously destructive to your pet. Drink without him.
Chocolate/Coffee/Coffee/Tea: Caffeine leads to hypertension, tachycardia, muscle tremors, and even internal bleeding. Make sure he doesn't have access to your coffee cans and chocolates, it's no fun to munch on them.
Dairy products: Like humans, animals are lactose intolerant. If you find that your dog has diarrhoea, gas or vomiting, it could be the milk you give him every morning.
Peanuts: If he eats everything, even peanuts, it's a good idea to cut them out. It has been confirmed that dogs that eat nuts show signs of weakness and ataxia in their movements.
Salt/Pepper: Excessive thirst, temperature increase, diarrhea, tremors, stop giving him chips.
Sugar: The damage is similar to that caused by (too much) sugar in humans: Fatigue, nervousness, obesity, rotting teeth, and even diabetes can set in.
