Mandatory vaccination: Extended to staff at Disability Certification Centers

Amendment of the Ministry of Health - Which disabled persons are exempted from the vaccination requirement.

Extends the mandatory vaccination to all staff - medical, administrative, support staff - of the Disability Certification Centres (CIPA), as provided for in amendment of the Ministry of Health.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the measure was deemed necessary because of the vulnerability of persons served by the Centres in the context of public health protection.

Also, the same regulation completes and clarifies the framework of compulsory vaccination of beneficiaries in social care units.

Specifically:

  • Beneficiaries of the Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Centres (except for Day Care Centres) are exempt from this obligation.
  • Provision is made for the possibility of returning beneficiaries to social care programmes if they have completed the first or only dose of vaccination.
  • The framework of sanctions for structures allowing the participation of unvaccinated persons is clearly described.
  • Finally, persons with disabilities who are unable to undergo the vaccination procedure - not because of the risk of vaccination, but for practical reasons - are exempted from the vaccination obligation. These are in particular severe cases of autism, mental retardation and epilepsy.
