A report in L'étoile du jour refers to Michalis Protopsaltis, the owner of a crane, who with the help of residents and other services rescued 80 migrants from the steep Diakofti area of Kythera on the night of October 5.
It is noted that Michalis Protopsaltis, who, as reported, does not want to be called a hero, was awarded along with others for the rescue of migrants at a ceremony held last Monday by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy
On the same subject, an article on LOOK-TRAVELS also reports that Michalis Protopsaltis received a thank-you phone call on Sunday from the Greek Prime Minister who congratulated him and thanked him for his efforts, stressing that Greeks will continue to save human lives endangered by unscrupulous human trafficking networks.
