Foreign Secretary Liz Truss is still significantly ahead of her rival, Rishi Shunak, in the race for the leadership of the Conservative Party and Britain's prime minister, a poll by YouGov for Sky News showed today.
The ruling Conservative Party is voting by postal ballot to choose its new leader after Boris Johnson said he would resign following a series of scandals. The winner will be announced on 5 September.
Truss, who has consistently topped the polls among Conservative Party members, leads Sounak by 32 percentage points among those who have decided to vote, the survey showed. Truss is garnering 66% and Shunak 34%.
According to the poll, only 13% of Conservative Party members have either not decided who to vote for or will not vote at all.
