Parliament: Immunity lifted for Patsis – rejected for Manolakos

With 274 votes «in favour» it was decided to lift the immunity of Andreas Patsis, Member of Parliament of Grevena, for the offences of repeatedly submitting an inaccurate declaration of assets and participation in a company with a foreign seat (according to Special Law 313/2003). 274 MPs participated in the roll-call vote.

Mr Patsis did not wish to speak. It is recalled that the opinion of the Ethics Committee to the plenary session was unanimously in favour of waiving the Member's immunity.

On the contrary, with 272 votes «against», against 2 «for» the prosecution's request to lift the immunity of MP Nikolaos Manolakou, regarding the complaint filed by his co-candidate Zoe Roussou in the constituency of Piraeus with the charges of moral incitement, issuing false statements, breach of duty and slander.

The ND MP did not want to comment on the case in plenary. The Ethics Committee had unanimously recommended to the plenary that the MP's request for immunity be rejected.
