Bomb on the... foundations of the World Cup! Middle East journalist Amjad Taha (who has 435,000 followers on Twitter) reports that Qatar has bribed eight Ecuadorian players (with a total of $7.4 million) to miss the opening game of the World Cup (with a 1-0 score and a goal in the second half).
He even cites sources that confirm the news from both Qatar and Ecuador, although he hopes that the information he has is false!
He also expresses his hope that FIFA will intervene in the matter, at a time when the issue has started to play high on Ecuador's sports websites, while major media around the world are also reporting on the event.
