«After five days, I was informed today by the Speaker of the Parliament that the government majority rejects my request for an extraordinary meeting of the Committee on Institutions, in order to be informed by the responsible persons of the National Security Service if they were also monitoring Christos Spirtzis,’ said SYRIZA-PS President Alexis Tsipras in a statement.
Tsipras turns his fire on the Prime Minister, saying: «Mr Mitsotakis now denies even the most obvious parliamentary institutional procedure. Anything that refers to institutions and transparency causes him an allergy and fear. He is afraid of the truth. He fears parliamentary procedure. He is even afraid of his own MPs, who, one after the other, are now publicly declaring that there is no secrecy of the NSA vis-à-vis the Parliament.».
He concludes by underlining: «Let him know that no matter how many archives he destroys, no matter how many parliamentary coups he stages, nothing will remain hidden. It only confirms his guilt. And he will not escape his responsibilities in the end.».
