A new concept in hotel accommodation has been proposed by Milan-based architectural firm Peter Pichler Architecture: the bespoke YOUNA Nature Resorts project is a group of flexible tree houses on the wooded slopes of the Alps; Each wooden house—reminiscent of a jewel—is designed to emerge from among the treetops with an exaggeratedly large gabled roof, reflecting the elongated dimensions of the pine trees that surround it.
Each log cabin is designed in a way that brings to mind «a tree house without a tree.» Referring to the design, the architects note that the idea mimics «both the archetypal gabled roof of a traditional log cabin and the dimension of the tree on which it sits.».
