Local rain and thunderstorms tomorrow

Local rain and thunderstorms are expected tomorrow, initially in Central Macedonia, Eastern Thessaly, the South Aegean, and Crete, with a gradual spread and intensification of the phenomena by midday to the rest of the country.

According to the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr, at midday and in the afternoon, the phenomena in the mountainous and semi-mountainous parts of Epirus, Western Sterea, and the Peloponnese will be locally intense. They are expected to weaken in the early evening hours, with the exception of Central and Eastern Macedonia and the Northern Aegean. Dust concentrations in the atmosphere will be increased, mainly in the south and east.

The temperature in Western Macedonia will range from 11 to 21 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 15 to 28, in Thessaly from 16 to 26, in Epirus from 12 to 29, in Central Greece and the Peloponnese from 14 to 28, in the Ionian Islands from 16 to 26, in the North and East Aegean Islands from 13 to 28, in the Cyclades from 16 to 25, in the Dodecanese from 17 to 25, and in Crete from 16 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Winds in the Aegean Sea will blow from northern directions at 2 to 4 Beaufort and locally from midday at 3 to 5 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea, winds will blow from northern directions at 2 to 4 Beaufort.

Local cloud cover is expected in Attica, with a chance of local showers, mainly in the northern parts of the region until the morning. Winds will blow from the north at 2 to 4 Beaufort and from midday in the south and east at 3 to 5 Beaufort. Dust concentrations in the atmosphere will be relatively high. The temperature in central Athens will range from 19 to 28 degrees Celsius.

In the prefecture of Thessaloniki, scattered clouds are expected, which will be denser at times, with local rain showers, while from midday there is a chance of thunderstorms. Winds will blow from varying directions at up to 3 Beaufort. Dust concentrations in the atmosphere will be relatively high. The temperature in the center of Thessaloniki will range from 19 to 25 degrees Celsius.
