Decisions regarding the progress of the sewerage project in the southern part of the island are being referred to a meeting of the Municipal Committee of the Municipality of Kythira. According to the invitation issued by the Committee Chair and Mayor, Mr. Efstratios Charhalakis, the regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
The body is called upon to examine the the contractor's request for a third extension of the deadline for completion of the drainage works in the southern section. At the same time, the agenda includes a review of the 3rd Summary Table of Works (AP), the 2nd Protocol on Unit Price Regulations for New Works (PKTMNE), as well as a decision on whether or not to enter into the 2nd Supplementary Works Contract for the same project.
Given the nature of the issue, the presidents of the municipal communities of Karvounades, Kythira, Livadi, and Mylopotamos have also been invited to participate in the joint meeting.
In addition to issues related to the sewer system, the Municipal Committee will address the drafting of the terms of the call for bids for the supply of fuel and lubricants to the Municipality for the period 2026–2027. Finally, the committee will discuss the submission of a funding proposal for public-interest projects under the CAP Strategic Plan, through the LEADER local development initiative.
The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, in person in the «Mayor Artemios Kalligeros» hall at City Hall and via videoconference using the Zoom platform.
