The Municipal Councilor of Kythira, Anargyros Sofios, visited the new Deputy Regional Governor of the Islands, Niko Papageorgiou, in an initial institutional meeting focusing on the problems and needs of Kythira. According to reports, Mr. Papageorgiou appeared positive and willing to work closely with the municipality, stating that he would support any documented request from the island.
Below is Mr. Sofios' statement.
«I visited the new Deputy Regional Governor of the Islands, Mr. Nikos Papageorgiou, and wished him a productive and meaningful term in the crucial Region of the Islands of Piraeus. Our discussion focused on Kythira, key everyday issues, and the necessary interventions required to address them.
His willingness to learn in depth about the unique characteristics of our islands and to listen carefully to the concerns of the local community is particularly promising. As he himself emphasized, he will actively support every documented request from our Municipality, in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.
In every situation, cooperation, unity, and balance are not simply desirable; they are essential prerequisites for moving forward.
