On the occasion of the three-year anniversary of the railway tragedy in Tempi, the society of Kythera declares its presence, joining its voice with the whole of Greece. With the central demand for justice for our 57 fellow human beings who were unjustly lost, a peaceful gathering is organized in Chora.
The call of the Teachers
The initiative is supported by the Primary School Teachers of Kythera, who address an open call to parents, students, employees and all residents of the island to be present.
In their statement, they underline the debt owed to the younger generation:
⚫️ 3 YEARS LATER - THE CRIME WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN ⚫️
Three years ago, 57 of our fellow citizens never reached their destination. Among them were dozens of young children, students, pupils.
As educators, the pain of the families is our pain too. Our duty to the next generation does not stop in the classroom, but continues in the streets, demanding safety, justice and that there be no cover-up.
Kythera unites its voice with all of Greece!
We call on parents, workers, students and all residents of the island to gather peacefully.
