In the proposal to reopen the focus on Monday, SYRIZA issued a statement criticizing the government for its policies on the pandemic.
Details
The government of Mr. Mitsotakis Continues Europe's longest and most failed lockdown. It has led society to its limits and the country to a tragic theatre of the absurd, with:
- fatigue from the failed strategy that has been in place for six months while the NHS remains in meltdown and outbreaks are out of control,
- the daily contradictions of the government,
- the political decisions which the Commission is then called upon to ratify
- and the bidding of ministers at the TV windows, in the absence of scientists, to see who will open more activities,
The government has completely lost its credibility and the citizens have lost their patience. On the one hand, it continues to pretend a failed peculiar lockdown while citizens continue to pile up every day in public transport, in mass workplaces and on the other hand it tries to convince that the only real danger for the pandemic is the overcrowding in squares and public places.
The government must act. Stop targeting citizens. Stop the absurdity that is leading the country to disintegration.
We call on Mr Mitsotakis to finally take measures for the real outbreaks of overproliferation and to proceed in parallel to a controlled opening of outdoor catering with strict sanitary protocols. Implement safety rules that will allow the obvious: social life in terms of respect and ensuring the country's health stability.
