In her statement, Ms Xenogiannakopoulou, said that the government of New Democracy, managed to inflate the problem of outstanding pensions, with the target of zero arrears of pension benefits being postponed to the end of 2021!

While the SYRIZA, as a government, reduced the pending applications by 74%, as during his previous term of office Mr. Vroutsis had delivered a huge volume of overdue applications, today, from the same position of Minister of Labour, he managed to triple the volume of applications from July 2019.
In fact, last September, the Klaus Regling had warned the ND government about 300,000 pending pensions. In the intervening period to date, not only has there been no reduction, but pending pensions are now approaching 360,000.
Moreover, the government officially admits its inability to solve this major problem, as the Budget of 2021, which is currently being debated in Parliament, states that the target of zeroing overdue pension benefits is postponed to the end of 2021!
So we wonder, will the Government and the Minister of Labour apologise to the thousands of pensioners who continue to live in poverty and insecurity at a time when the economic and social crisis is deepening?»
