The following is a press release of the Municipality of Kythera:
The Mayor of Kythera Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis, in the context of his absence from Kythera due to his participation in the KEDE Conference in Alexandroupolis, had the following meetings and contacts in Athens:
1. With the Gen. 1.
2. With the executives of the Network of Municipalities of the Attica Islands, on the implementation of the Programmatic Agreement between the Municipality of Kythera and the Network concerning the study and maturation of new major infrastructure projects on the island, such as (indicatively) new water supply and road works, WWTP and sewage treatment plant of the North Department, Indoor Gym with underground parking in Chora, renovation of municipal properties of the Mylopotamos Community, completion of the study for the redevelopment of Chora, studies for the redevelopment of Ag. Pelagia, etc.
3. With the Vice-Regional Governor of the Islands Mr. Nik. Papageorgiou and the executives of the Department of Technical Support of Island Municipalities of the P.E. of the Attica Islands, where an overview of all the projects funded by the Region in Kythera and the requests for new integrations was made. The Mayor stressed the need to sign as soon as possible the Programme Contracts for the construction of the Slaughterhouses (2.728.000€), the Theatre of Potamos (950.000€) and the redevelopment of Potamos (1.400.000€) which have already been included, while he insisted on the issue of the upgrade of the main road and the extension of the Airport.
