The Municipality of Kythira issued an announcement regarding traffic regulations due to construction work:
From Wednesday, February 25, 2026, through Tuesday, March 31, 2026, work is scheduled to begin on the construction of the sewer system along a section of the Kythira provincial road, specifically the section between the village of Livadi and the bridge located at the entrance to the village of Fatsadika. (See attached Google Earth file—the route is marked in red.).
The section of the aforementioned provincial road where the sewer system is to be constructed is particularly narrow, posing a risk of accidents caused by passing vehicles, while the work is being carried out.
For this reason, it is absolutely essential to halt all forms of vehicle traffic.
In order to bypass the section described above, where work is being carried out as part of the «DRAINAGE OF THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE ISLAND OF KYTHIRA» project, it is recommended that vehicles traveling from the northern part of the island toward Livadi follow the Aroniadikon – Kontolianika provincial road and turn right onto the Livadi – Areon provincial road heading toward Livadi.
