There is no room for anyone in Kythira!

I have carefully read the two announcements-placements of tourism professionals of tourist offices - agencies of our island. Both agencies - tourist agencies.

The tourist offices - agencies are the first and last “contact of the visitor” about our island. I don't think any of us have any complaints from one agency or another. Does anyone have any comments, about the image that comes out from inside and outside the island and that is taken care of by the people working in the two agencies, with exhausting hours and constant presence, offices and port, starting with the current heads of the agencies ? Certainly not. At times we all have (and understandably so as everyone's wants are different) complaints about the ships, their schedules, their timetables, their behaviour and not about “our agents”.

I was one of the first and perhaps one of the few who took a public stand when a decision of the municipal council (of past years and not of the present administration) reached the Ministry of Shipping and asked clearly to abolish the second ship from Gythio, as it “harmed” the interest of the local line of the other ship.

I was one of the first to sit on the catapult of the “other company” ship, preventing its departure so that our demands could be heard by the ministry.
I congratulate and thank the company Tourlumousis-Tsalas who have done their utmost (occasionally reaching several more than the daily departures already posted) to accommodate everyone.

I congratulate and thank the Iliopoulos company for launching a ship worthy of the previous one on the “other line”.

I congratulate the two agencies of Kythera for the perfect service to the residents and visitors, bringing out the best image in and out of our island.

But... Dear friend and colleague Panagiotis (the singular because he is my good friend). I think that in the excitement and joy of the news that we will finally have a second access to Gythio from the company you represent, you made an inappropriate parallelism of distances, which resulted in the justified “reaction - response”, my friend Sotiris (the singular because Sotiris is also my good friend), but through the name of his agency, and not “in person”.

I am sure that Panagiotis did not do a “second reading” and missed this misstatement. I am sure because I know his ethos that he will be “distressed” by the turn of events. I am sure that at this time he needs a calm voice to urge him to “put things in perspective”.

I'm sure Sotiris will understand him.
I am sure that Sotiris and Panagiotis with their partners will continue to give their battle, each from their own position, but both together for the same result, so that the image of Kythera continues to come out spotlessly clear through the service of their offices.

P.S. I did not deliberately mention the names of the two offices, neither in alphabetical order nor on the basis of «seniority» for ethical reasons.
