The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, who is visiting today the Hiroshima, the first city ever to be struck by atomic bomb, stated that Global security is threatened by Russia's invasion of Ukraine and North Korea's recent missile test.
In Mr. Michel’s view, Hiroshima serves as a reminder of «how urgent it is» to strengthen international rules on nuclear disarmament and arms control.
«As we speak, global security is under threat. Russia, a country with a nuclear arsenal (…), is attacking the sovereign state of Ukraine while making outrageous and unacceptable references to the use of nuclear weapons,» said the President of the European Council during his speech in the city.
