Great was the participation of residents and professionals of Troizinia, Methana and Poros, today at noon in the protest meeting held at the intersection of Dryopi, on the initiative of the Organization of Members of Poros, Troizinia and Methana of SYRIZA PROODEYTIKI SYMPHIA.
The meeting was attended by the MP of SYRIZA in Argolida, George Gavrilos, as well as the members of the Piraeus Prefecture, Christos Lambrides and Litsa Reppa.
The residents of the area raised a number of issues that concern the region, while the professionals emphasized the inconvenience they suffer from the closure of the road from Dryopi to Epidaurus, which has resulted in increased inconvenience and transport costs.
Also, executives of the Health Center Galata, raised the issue of the huge delay observed during the transfer of patients by ambulance from Troizina to the Hospitals of Nafplio and Argos.
The issue of sea transport with conventional ships from Piraeus to Methana and Poros was also raised and despite the promises made, absolutely nothing was done.
The MP of SYRIZA, George Gavrilos, in his intervention stressed:
“We are at the junction of Dryopi in Trizinia, which connects the wider region with Argolida. Here with residents, indignant who see in the commercial activity, in the agricultural activity, in the tourist activity for 4 months now have a problem. They have a problem because there is a Regional Authority that does not stand up to the big problem of the collapse of the road that connects Troizinia with Argolida and the State seems to close its eyes to the issues facing the wider region. Residents, they tell us both about the health problems and the delays faced by ambulances to move quickly. We are in an area that is also blocked by the sea. There is a need for the Regional Authority and the State to look at these issues immediately. Of course, SYRIZA Progressive Alliance will also bring this issue to the Parliament. The region cannot remain cut off now for 4 months after the September disasters and the authorities cannot remain indifferent. They need to provide appropriate responses to the problems that people are demanding solutions to. We have been waiting today to see the new Regional Authority. Unfortunately, none came, while they were aware of the planned mobilization of local residents. In any case, because it is also a matter of health of the people who have been suffering for the last 4 months, we will make the appropriate interventions and take initiatives to restore the road connection between Troizinia and Argolida.
