The Deputy Mayor of Finance and Tourism George Stratikos had a meeting with the employees of the Financial Directorate of the Municipality of Kythera on 3 January 2024. «With my official assumption of my duties as deputy mayor of finance and tourism, there is no time to lose. At my meeting with the employees of the city's finance department the following day, January 3, 2024, I was given an initial briefing on the operations, procedures and needs of the department and the city's finance department. The first picture of the finances is that of a financially healthy municipality, with an abundance of funding for our population size and no loan obligations.
It is worth mentioning that this has been done with the hard work of a very small group of people from the financial services under the supervision of our mayor Efstratios Harhalakis and my predecessor Panagiotis Zantiotis. I believe that with the contribution of our employees, our overall experience, the setting of clear goals on my part and the positive guidance of our mayor, we can continue the positive course of our municipality's finances.
A similar picture was painted by Panayiotis Gianniotis workers in the tourism sector. Here, of course, there is still a lot of work to be done. What is needed now is an integrated planning based on financial tools, communication with the professional bodies about the needs and problems they face, as well as cooperation with local associations and the cultural delegate Matina Varda.
I believe that with the help of the people of the municipality, the bodies of the island, the associations, my elected colleagues, both the opposition and the opposition, our mayor but especially all Tsirigotoi, to achieve our goals for a financially robust municipality with a positive development sign in the important for the island tourism sector.
