Programme for the celebration of the national anniversary of 25 March 1821

The celebration, which will take place on Monday 25/03/2024, will include the following events:

1. General Flagging of all Public Buildings - NPOs - Banks and Houses from the morning of 23 March until the evening of 25 March 2024.
2. Illumination of all public and municipal shops, NPOs and Banks during the evening hours of the 24th and 25th of March 2024.
3. Solemn Doxology at the Metropolitan Holy Church of the Crucifixion of Chora of Kythera, on 25/3/2024 at 11:00 a.m., presided by His Eminence Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythera and Antikythera.
4. Memorial service at Stai Square in Chora Chora Kythera, on 25/3/2024 at 11:30 am.
5. Deposition of a wreath at the Memorial of the Fallen in Stai Square by:

- MEP, Mr Konstantinos Arvanitis
- The Mayor of Kythera, Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis
- Chairman of the Property of Kythera and Antikythera, Mr Evangelos Venardos
- Commander of the Naval Observatory, Commander Mr. Emmanuel Ablianitis PN
- Commander of the Kythera Police Station, Lieutenant B’ Mr. Vasilios Antonopoulos
- Commander of the B’ Port Department of Kythera, Lieutenant Mrs. Niki Giannakopoulou SS
- Head of the Kythera P/K, Pyragos Mr. Spyridon Fountoulakis
- School Students' Representative, Myrto Petrochilou

6. One minute's silence.
7. Reciting the National Anthem.
8. Solemn speech by the Mayor of Kythera.
9. Dance events by the student youth of Kythera.
10. Parade of students.

The Deputy Mayor Mr. Kominos Georgios Kominos is appointed Master of Ceremonies.
The events will be musically covered by the Potamos Philharmonic Orchestra, courtesy of its Director Mr. Panagiotis Leftheris.
