The situation in the main village of Potamos seems to have reached a critical point, according to a three-page letter sent by the Cultural Association to the Mayor, the Municipal Council, the relevant Deputy Mayor, and the Council of the Municipal Community of Potamos. The letter, sent today, March 22, to the aforementioned parties, makes extensive reference to a host of problems in the area for which the Municipal Administration is accused of being responsible. The letter also strongly protests to Mayor Efstratios Charhalakis himself for abandoning Potamos, while attributing personal responsibility to him both for the blow to the institution of the bazaar and for other issues that, as usual, fall within the realm of «theory.» Read the Board of Directors' letter with its very serious observations in detail.

With this letter, we would like to bring to your attention the major problems
faced by the municipality of Potamos and the surrounding areas.
These problems arise as result of the actions of the Municipality and
degrade our region.
For several years now, the concern of the Municipal Authority has been to continuous
degradation of the northern part of the island. This deterioration has direct
consequences for all activities of residents. Whether they are professionals
or ordinary people.
We feel and are completely abandoned.
With the recent «decision,» following initiative of Mr. Harhalakis, has
degrade and tends to disappear the Sunday market in Potamos.
This was something we had pointed out to him as an Association, but Mr.
Charhalakis ignored us.
Η unacceptable situation with bulky waste bins, in the space next to
directly from the Potamos water supply reservoir (Agios Ilias area —
Aeropharos).
There is only one bin and the collection of accumulated waste —
