Today, on the day of Orthodoxy, at noon, the transfer of the holy icon of Panagia Myrtidiotissa from Myrtidia to the capital of Kythera, to the Cathedral of the Crucifixion began. Finally it did not pass the decision of the Commission of the European Communities who said that due to the special circumstances the icon would be transported in the specially designed vehicle available to the sanctuary.

The transfer is carried out in the traditional way, that is, with the accompaniment of the faithful on foot. After 6.00 in the afternoon it is expected to arrive at the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Crucifix in Chora.
