The presentation of the European digital certificate EU Digital COVID Certificate, which will facilitate travel within the European Union, will be made today by the Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Minister of State and Digital Governance.
The event, at which the government will announce how the green certificate will work, will be addressed by the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and will also be joined by president of the European Council Charles Michel and Vice-President of the European Commission for the Promotion of the European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas.
The event will take place at the premises of the National Network of Infrastructures for Research and Technology - Hellas (EDYTE).
The Prime Minister, speaking yesterday at the event marking 40 years of Greece's accession to the European Communities, said he was proud of Greece's contribution to two major European steps towards the post-Covid era. «The joint procurement vaccines and the issuance of the European Covid Certificate, which will once again allow our citizens to travel safely,» the Prime Minister said. .
In the European certificate, it was also referred to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. He noted that Greece and the EU worked hand in hand for this certificate. “Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was one of the first to promote the idea of facilitating travel, including for vaccinated citizens. And I can proudly say that the European Certificate will be able to enter into force as early as June“, said the President of the European Commission.
