Signed by the Mayor of Kythera Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis the contract for the construction of the project “Extension of the Water Supply Network to Caves-Xeroniamata”, with a total budget of 232.000,00€ and a contract amount after the auction of 133.216,91€. The contractor is Violeta Kirani and the deadline for completion of the project is 5 months.
The construction of the network is planned from the tank at the “Disko” location in Kapsali to the tank in the settlement of Xeroniamata, all the electrical and mechanical works and the relevant connections. This project will ensure uninterrupted water supply to Stavros, Xeroniamata and Kalamos from the desalination plant in Kapsali and consequently save water from the Kalamos boreholes for the area of Livadi.
This is a project of exceptional importance for the smooth water supply of the specific areas, which proves that the Municipal Authority has a specific plan which it implements based on the resources available on a case-by-case basis.
The funding is covered by the MFF of the Ministry of Shipping.
