Despite the reactions and the constant presence of residents at the site, the new drilling in the Diakopoulianikia Karava began today, with the local community speaking of unprecedented arbitrariness and trampling on its decisions.
The residents, who had already filed a lawsuit against the municipal authority yesterday Tuesday 16 September, proceeded today and second complaint, this time against the process itself, pointing out that the drilling is proceeding without their consent and despite the objections raised about the impact on the Keramari fountain and the gully.
According to information, by the 21:00 in the evening the drilling continued but water had not been found. According to Kythera.News sources, the drill has reached a depth of 50 meters.
The image at the site shows a community watching with anguish and anger, but also with conviction, defending its environment and its decisions against a project that is proceeding under police surveillance and without dialogue.
This development gives a new dimension to the conflict between the Karavites and the municipal authority, which is now acquiring not only a social and environmental character, but also serious legal implications, with the two lawsuits now in the hands of justice.
