Speaking to Sky News, the actor said, «It’s truly a harrowing moment to be European, just a two-and-a-half-hour flight away from Ukraine, and it’s something that hangs over us.».
«We all need to… do more than just wear a badge. We need to make donations; we need to pressure our politicians to keep creating some kind of refuge here for people who are suffering,» he continued. «Everyone should do as much as they can… A record number of people have volunteered to take people into their homes; I hope to be a part of that, too,» he added.
The United Kingdom’s Minister for Housing, Communities, and Local Government, Michael Gove, announced the program, which will allow British households to host refugees from the war-torn country and receive 350 British pounds per month in government funding when they hostrefugees for six months.
