Under the central slogan «Together for Greece 2030», the 16th Ordinary Congress of New Democracy will be held on 15, 16 and 17 May at the Metropolitan Expo.
Specifically:
On Friday 15 May, the inaugural speech of the party's President and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will take place. The President of the Organising Committee, Theodoros Roussopoulos, will declare the opening of the Congress.
On Saturday 16 May, speeches will be delivered by the Director General of the New Democracy, Yannis Smyrlis, the President of the European People's Party Manfred Weber and the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Christodoulides, the General Secretary of the Parliamentary Group Maximos Charakopoulos, the Vice-Presidents of the party Kostis Hatzidakis and Adonis Georgiades and the Rapporteur of the New Democracy in the Constitution Revision Committee Euripides Stylianides.
During the conference, representatives of the European Union, representatives of the European People's Party and the European Parliament, as well as representatives of other parties of the Greek Parliament will address the conference.
At the same time, on the second day of the Conference, the participants will make presentations in eight thematic sections, which are: «Social State for all - New perspectives and opportunities», «Strong Greece», «Strong Economy - Strong Greece», «Greece a destination for all - Major projects & infrastructure», «Modern State for all», «Safe Greece», «With the young people we build the Greece of the future» and «2030: Greece strong, New Democracy ahead».
Also on Saturday 16 May, a side event on artificial intelligence will take place, with the participation of the President of the New Democracy and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
On Sunday 17 May, speeches will be delivered by the Secretary of the Political Committee Stelios Kontadakis, the Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tzitzikostas, the Secretary General of the European People's Party Dolors Montserrat, the President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus and of the Democratic Rally Anita Demetriou and the President of the Organising Committee Theodoros Roussopoulos, while the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola and the former President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker will address the audience.
Before the end of the proceedings, the Party President and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will address the assembly.
At the Conference there will be pavilions of foreign institutions that have a long-standing cooperation with the New Democracy (Konrad-Adenauer, Wilfried Martens, Hanns Seidel), a pavilion of the European People's Party, the Institute for Democracy Constantine Karamanlis (IDKK), as well as two pavilions of start-ups in the field of artificial intelligence.
According to the announcement of the New Democracy Party regarding the organizational part of the Congress, the registration of the delegates will take place on Friday from 15:00 to 18:30, the submission of nominations for the Political Committee of the party will take place on Saturday from 14:00 to 16:00 and the voting for the election of the members of the Political Committee will take place on Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00.
