The armed forces of Belarus today launched unannounced large-scale military exercises to test their combat readiness, the defence ministry of the country bordering Ukraine.
«The test for combat readiness will involve the movement of a significant number of military vehicles, which may cause delays in traffic on public roads,» the ministry warned.
As the Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Belarus stressed that these exercises do not pose a threat to its neighbours or to Europe in general.
Belarus is a close ally of Russia. In the early stages of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, some areas of the country close to the border with Belarus, including Kiev, were targeted by bombing.
However, Moscow has now focused its attacks on the eastern and south-eastern part of Ukraine.
