With a rich and multifaceted musical program, Kythira is actively participating this year in the European Music Festival, transforming the entire island into an open-air music venue from the Friday, June 19, through Sunday, June 21, 2026.
As revealed by the event’s official poster, the festivities stretch from Potamos and Chora all the way to Kapsali, Frilingianika, and the beach at Fournoi, catering to every musical taste: from rebetiko, folk, and traditional music to jazz, soul, Afro-Latin, and contemporary DJ sets.

Friday, June 19
Red Spaleto (Friligiánika) | 9:30 p.m.: A rebetiko night featuring Gabriel Psarras, Panagiotis & Yiannis Efthymiu, Mike Kastrisos, and Isidoros Pantelaros. Guest: Vlantis on the accordion.
Merkato (Town) | 9:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m.: DJ set featuring Afro-Latin rhythms by DJ Watusi.
Fox Anglais (Kapsali) | 10:00 p.m.: DJ set featuring funky and hip-hop tracks by DJ Nospa X k.

Magos & Alatarea (Kapsali) | 9:00 p.m.: A traditional evening with Nikitas Megalokonomos and Manolis Stathis.
Red Spaleto (Friligiánika) | 9:30 p.m.: Folk, Island Traditional, and Rebetiko music with Iliana Tampakou, Giorgos Chronis, and Mike Kastrisos.

The three-day event is being coordinated nationally by MESO Events, with the international support of European Music Day, support for EDEM and their supporters Indie_gr and Postscript.
