-What did the «OPEKEPE case» prove?;
- There are some who feel they are the «rightful owners» of the country. They own the public institutions, they appoint and remove the heads, they decide where the money goes (even when it is European), they decide the «criteria» for distribution (and if they don't like it they change it), they decide everything.
- The «legal owners» do not feel threatened by any domestic control mechanism. That's why they were so «comfortable» in their talks with each other. If they didn't feel so powerful they wouldn't be asking ministers to «bump off» or «shear» prosecutors. After all, they have tested the «limits» of the Greek justice system in the wiretapping scandal, in the Tempi blockade, in the SIEMENS and NOVARTIS cases, in the prosecution of anyone who resists, etc. They simply had not «weighed» the institution of the European Public Prosecutor well and had the misfortune to «run into» prosecutors who wanted to do their job properly.
- The «legal owners» believe that the limits of popular control are exhausted on election night. That is why they make sure to influence the vote of the citizens by every means, in every way, without moral barriers. Sometimes with money, sometimes with communication mechanisms, sometimes with fear, sometimes with appointments, their aim is to get a parliamentary majority (which is of course a minority in society and becomes a majority by virtue of electoral law). That is why when asked by journalists about various cases they would reply that ’elections solved that«. The gentlemen »forty-one« were simply the crudest servants of the same policy.
- The «legal owners» want to control their «local representatives». That's why they are not bothered when (as in the case of the OPEKEPE) some of them are involved (Lambropoulos revealed it on MEGA) in cases of drugs, hashish cultivation, animal theft, attacks on police officers, etc. One supports the other in every way, by every means, without regard to laws and principles, «clean talk»...
- The «rightful owners» (and their parrots) know that they are playing a joke on us when they talk about «excellence», «evaluation», «staying in Europe», etc. We have seen the excellence, we have seen the evaluation (an OPEKEPE employee, Ms. Tycheropoulou, who dared to ask for the legal requirements to be met, was ruthlessly persecuted), we have also seen that the «staying Europeans» are just pimps of European funds. They have no vision, no morals, no nothing. Instead of «Denmark of the South» they rather treat us as «Husuburu of the North».
- In these circumstances, the demand must be not just a change of government, but the dismantling of every point of entanglement in the whole country. After all, we have «many OPEKEPE» in local government, in associations, in organisations and even in sports clubs. The abscess of any kind of interconnectedness must be broken immediately, and all kinds of «bullies» must be held accountable.
It is clear that no one can do this alone. It requires a coalition of many different forces, of course, that can agree with each other on the basics.
If we don't do it now, let's not cry tomorrow...
