Positive for coronavirus was found on Wednesday afternoon the governor of the hospital George Megalokonomos, as reported by the newspaper “Kytheraika”. According to the publication, Mr. Γ. Priest does not adhere to the protection measures reported by Kytheraika
As the newspaper reveals, a priest, whose family had recently been diagnosed with the disease, continued to officiate and have contact with churchgoers, something that should have been avoided as an absolutely necessary precautionary measure. The newspaper points out that memorial services and other religious ceremonies have been found to be a breeding ground for transmission of the virus in Kythera and notes that those with symptoms should be tested immediately, but also to avoid close contact with other people, especially to assess their symptoms themselves if they are not doctors.
