Clematis the Postwrinkle

clematis cirrhosa L. 

Native climbing plant common throughout the Mediterranean. It flowers in early November. It climbs on bushes, trees or walls using woody “tentacles”. Its white or off-white flowers are large and showy. In many parts of Europe it is considered an excellent ornamental and is grown systematically. Also known as wild orchid, swallow-wort, white-flowered or ragweed. In Amorgos and especially in Aegiali it is called wild verbena (amorgis.blogspot.com)
