According to the latest forecast data from the National Meteorological Service (EMY), the country is entering a period of typically spring-like weather. While the start will be mild with unseasonably high temperatures, a brief passage of a disturbance is expected between Friday and Saturday before the weather improves again on Sunday.

Detailed Forecast for Kythera

Kythera will be mainly affected by the strengthening of winds during the weather change.

Today Thursday (19/3)

Clear weather with a few thin clouds.

  • Winds: East-northeast weak to moderate, 3-4 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: From 13 to 19 degrees Celsius.

Friday (20/3)

Thin clouds that will gradually thicken from noon. There is a slight chance of light rain locally in the evening hours.

  • Winds: They will turn southwest and will strengthen significantly, reaching 5-6 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: From 14 to 18 degrees Celsius.

Saturday (21/3)

Cloudy in the morning hours with a chance of drizzle or light rain, improving quickly before noon and sunny.

  • Winds: They will turn to northwest (Maistros), strong to very strong, 6-7 Beaufort. Strengthening winds will make the cold feeling more intense.
  • Temperature: In decline, from 12 to 16 degrees Celsius.

Sunday (22/3)

Excellent weather with full sunshine all day.

  • Winds: Northwest, will weaken quickly and winds will be light to moderate, 3-4 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: Rising in the afternoon, from 11 to 18 degrees Celsius.

Today Thursday (19/3)

Generally clear weather throughout the country, with a few sparse clouds in the north. Visibility in the morning hours will be locally limited, mainly in the western and northern mainland.

  • Winds: Variable light 3-4 Beaufort, in the Aegean Sea locally up to 5 Beaufort from northern directions.
  • Temperature: On the rise, it will reach 19-21 degrees Celsius on the mainland.

Friday (20/3)

Change of scenery from the west and north. Clouds will gradually increase and local rainfall will occur initially in the Ionian Sea and Epirus, and later in Macedonia and Thrace. In the rest of the country there will be thin clouds which will become thicker in the evening.

  • Winds: They will turn to southwest and will strengthen, reaching 5-6 Beaufort in the sea.
  • Temperature: Without significant change, it will remain at slightly above normal levels.

Saturday (21/3)

The disturbance is moving further east. Local showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms are expected in Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the East Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. In the rest of the country the weather will improve rapidly with sunny intervals.

  • Winds: They will turn to northwestern winds throughout the territory, enhanced to 5-6 and locally in the Aegean up to 7 Beaufort, causing a significant drop in temperature.
  • Temperature: In decline, mainly in the central and northern regions.

Sunday (22/3)

Generally clear weather with sunshine in most of the country. A few clouds will be present in Northern Crete in the morning hours.

  • Winds: North-northwest, gradually weakening and not exceeding 4-5 Beaufort, except in the southeast where it will blow up to 6 Beaufort in the morning.
  • Temperature: Slightly rising towards maximum values at noon.
