From 15.5 cents per kilowatt-hour to over 20 cents, the “green” electricity tariffs for December, according to the Regulatory Authority's website where the new prices were posted today.
Tariffs are higher than in November due to the rise in prices on the Energy Exchange. Within days, the government is expected to announce the price subsidy, which will apply to residential and commercial tariffs in addition to residential tariffs, while the regulator announced that the green tariff will continue to be offered compulsorily by suppliers in 2025.
In detail:
Prices for December start from 15.499 cents per kilowatt hour for the first 500 kilowatt hours per month (this is the “green” tariff of PPC which has proceeded to a discount of 68 % on the basic price), while the night tariff is 14.514 cents. In the meantime, the Regulatory Authority announced that “since no newer Ministerial Decision has been issued that regulates differently the rules of application of the Special Tariff (“green”), it is concluded that from 1 January 2025 it will continue to be offered by Suppliers on a mandatory basis, based on the structure described in the above Ministerial Decision and under the rules of the Electricity Supply Code.
