The construction sites of municipal works were visited today, Sunday 11 April, by the Mayor of Kythera Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis and the Deputy Mayor Mr. Charalambos Sougiannis to inspect the works being carried out.
As the Mayor said in a post on his personal Facebook account, the following projects were visited:
Gerakari Forest: The main firebreaks are being cleared in a way that has not been done for many years. The emphasis in this phase is on the area where natural vegetation meets the artificial forest. Zones 30+m wide are created and there is a possibility of helicopter landing at a specific point (plateau). The funding is from the municipality's own resources.
St. Anastasia Road: Earthworks have been completed and crews will begin earthworks later this week on the Diakopoulianika - Progi - St. John Gerakari road. The project is funded by the PDE of the Region of Attica.
Viaradika: Work on the landscaping of public spaces is progressing normally and will be completed with the upgrading of the basketball court.
