And the word «compass» was not used unconsciously has special weight. Because «compass» is the key word used by Al. Tsipras. «New National Compass» is the title of his text, which takes a stand on a number of serious, open issues for our country. He repeated it in his speech at the Economist conference a week ago.
This is exactly what the journalist who asked the question at the press conference relied on. With S. Famello giving the above answer, I don't know possibly, possibly, there are other... compasses. He emphatically insists on the need for unity of the progressive forces, noting. «We want unities, sums. We are not opening any discussion about fragmentation. We want additions. This is the line of SYRIZA-P.S.». How does it translate? «that whoever comes out of the... pen (see SYRIZA) is eaten by the wolf» simply and Averrofically.
Apparently reminding Al. Tsipras. And below he apparently reminds Tsipras that «we have all agreed in SYRIZA-P.S., and we have agreed with Alexis Tsipras, that a united, progressive response is required». Had they previously agreed? I don't think all of this suggests that Tsipras and Famellos have not pre-agreed on anything. Each one is pacing himself...
The current party president did not skimp on the good words about his predecessor. Several times he defended him against the words of the «blue» propaganda.
There can be no clash with Alexis Tsipras, there are no political disagreements on strategy. Moreover, Socrates Famellos does not disagree with Alexis Tsipras’ positions, it seems that he is closer to the former Prime Minister, but the current SYRIZA leadership has carefully avoided adopting the nine pillars of Tsipras' strategic plan.
The main objective of S. Famellos was to define his political space, in conclusion «all together within SYRIZA» - emphasizing the word «within».
