The time has come for young film buffs to enjoy one of Pixar's best and most recent works. It is the animated film Turning Red, directed by Domee Shi.
In the film, Mei Lee, a thirteen-year-old girl (her mother's obedient daughter) faces the challenges and changes of adolescence. Every time she gets overly excited, she transforms into a giant red panda. The rest is on screen.
“A highly entertaining, inventive, and narratively delightful allegory of female coming of age. Full of script ideas, cultural references, subtle social commentary, and insightful psychological analysis.” ATHINORAMA
“The film, with its extra-girly, entertaining imagery and playful references, ... ... emphasizes (and intensifies) the subtle nuances of relationships. No one rebels and no one clashes—and that is precisely why Meilin reminds us: we don't have to please everyone, we don't have to do everything, we don't always have to obey. Unless it's a... red panther.’ FLIX
“An animation of the new era that aims to spark a deep discussion between parents and children after viewing. A discussion that will not only cover sex education, but also the boundaries and redefinition of their relationship.“ LIFO
The film will be screened with Greek dubbing. It starts at 9 p.m. Popcorn will be served. We look forward to seeing you at Karavas, the most magical cinema, because Monday means Karavas and CinePortokalia!
